Yesterday we decided to remove the chimney on the second floor to allow better placement of the closet in the Master Bedroom. It went quickly since the grout between the bricks was so deteriorated. We were very happy that we had decided to remove it. We discussed if we should remove the chimney portion on the first floor (kitchen). Today we decided yes. It also was removed quickly and we realized that with it gone we had more flexibility in the kitchen! Another floor plan change coming up! We removed 18′ of chimney – about 500 bricks.
