Day 13 & 14 North wall siding and corbels
The siding is installed on the north wall. The window frame is installed – we are still working on restoring the windows themselves. Corbels are on each corner of the wall to support the roof.
Day 12 Rotted Area in North Porch Roof & New Sidewalk
We found that there was a leak in the north porch. Our dedicated carpenters opened the roof up and found extensive rot. Lindsey cleaned it up and did this lovely patch. I used the last of the driveway pavers to construct a sidewalk to the front porch.
Day 11 Second Story Fascia
Slow day at Rose Cottage – I painted 2 x 6’s for the second floor fascia
Weekend
We did some painting and misc work but took time off for an art show ‘Strong Women’ by Jimmy Longoria, a well-known Chicano artist.
Day 10 Quieter day. We shopped
We went to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Found electrical boxes, insulation, ridge vents and two vintage light fixtures. The amber will be for a ceiling fan – old but can’t identify it’s maker. The white fixture is Iris by Jeanneatte glass from the 1930’s.

Day 9 Roof covered
Day 9 Brian and Gabe worked until 9 p.m. to finish covering the roof and making it water tight. Thank you!

Day 6 Painting Shakes and Repairing Window & Trusses Going Up
Steven worked repairing the triple north window and I worked on stripping the paint. Shakes were spread out and painted.
