After Steven finished with drywall plastering and sanding, I needed to repaint the hallway walls. It was the color of the ceilings. I used the wrong paint by mistake and Steven suggested that instead of repainting the entire wall i use a sponge. I used two different colors and am very happy with the result. It goes with the wallpaper nicely and creates another interesting feature to the house.

Living Room Opening to Hallway
Steven had originally wanted to finish the doorway with wood trim. Instead he decided to use dry wall. There was already an arch in the opening to make it even better he created curves in each of the upper corners.
Shower Curtain Railing
The shower curtain rail had to be suspended from the ceiling on one end and attached to the wall (window trim in this case). It was tricky but we were successful and know have a shower. We already had white ceramic shower hooks with pink roses. I will alternate them with the bronze hooks that came with the railing. I found the floor mat in our crawl space collection.
Kitchen cabinets and granite
Steven connected the stove to gas and it works! We were then able to call my daughter and her husband to come and help us install the last piece of granite over the cabinet on the right side of the stove. What is left is shelving above the dishwasher for dishes and glasses and covering up the radiator pipes above the sink. We decided to use a wallpaper border over the coverup and also install it around the room to give cohesion. I installed the wallpaper on the east wall.
Tub room Chair rail
We had gotten this chair rail a long time ago. I think it was from the ReUse store that is no longer open. The towel warmer luckily was at the exact height for the chair rail is rest just above it. I used a coping saw to shape the end of the rail so it would fit curved into the vanity.
Stained Glass Rose for a hole in the storm
Early on a hole was punctured in the dining room storm. A hole and radiating cracks. It is a large piece of old glass that we didn’t want to replace so Steven took the glass pieces apart and copper foiled them and created a red rose for the hole. He then painted on green leaves along the cracks. Meanwhile I repaired the window glazing on the exterior windows and painted the inside of the big window.
China Cabinet between Dining Room and Living Room
This china cabinet was found along side of the road on our way to church. Steven cut it down to lower it. I stained the surface to darken it. We decided to build it in half way.
Help from Friends
A friend came over to help us paint the living room ceiling. We had planned to put faux tin ceiling wallpaper on the ceiling but decided that would be too hard on our bodies. We chose a dark rose color.
When Cheryl arrived to help us paint, another friend stopped by and gave her a housewarming gift for us. it was a lovely floral pillow – shown on the right side of the sofa.
Once the ceiling was painted Steven was able to install the ceiling medallion and the ceiling fan.
I also installed a curtain on the north porch door in the hallway (I think it was the front door originally).
