We were blessed with 63 friends coming to Rose Cottage Open House, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Everyone was very supportive and amazed.

We had a boutique sale inside the house and a garage sale on the driveway. Steven began clearing items to sell or get rid of.

Friends came to help clean and decorate for the party.

We saw instructions on making an air cleaner using 4 filters, a square of cardboard, a fan, and duct tape. We had a quiet 20″ x 20″ fan we had picked up along the street. We purchased the air filters and taped. It seems to be catching a lot of dust already.

We passed our final electrical inspection today. He noticed the electrical strip Steven had added to the desk “I didn’t see that,” he says. Also
the lights in the bedroom closets were not positioned correctly. Steven also has to change an outlet in the basement from 4 to 2. He signed our permit as passed!

The baseboard tops needed restoring. I scraped paint from the baseboards from the bedroom, steel wooled with mineral spirits. I needed also to use a drill with an attached tool to remove years of dirt engrained in the grooves.

Steven had his right hip replacement and was elated.

We are taking a break from working on the house. We are needing to heal from our surgeries. We did treat ourselves to a lovely 5 course dinner at the Como Conservatory.
