I insulated the dormer. Fiberglass on the walls and layers of polystyrene under the roof. I spray foamed the cracks. It was an awful job. It got all over my hands. I will leave further jobs to Steven!
I painted the shakes a shade darker than the darkest trim – closest to the roofing. It was satin paint but turned out glossy. We like the color but not the gloss.
The siding is finished! They are now working on the window trims.
We found this very nice double hung window at Bauer Brothers. Steven installed it and it waiting for trim.
The weather has stayed unseasonably warm so we got out the paint sprayer so I could paint the first floor siding. It needs another coat to fully cover plus it is lighter than the second floor due to different materials, even though it was the same shade of paint! Next spring it will be painted again using a bit darker shade. The trim is in process of receiving a darker shade of paint.
The piles of building materials in the yard were cleared up. The tent covered with brown tarp was dismantled.
