To add even more light to the hallway Steven cut a hole above the tub room door for a “window”. It couldn’t be centered exactly because of stud placement. It will be installed after the hall is faux painted and I have painted the trim around the window.
Steven created the opening for the stained glass window, built a wood frame around the glass and installed the window. Lovely light flows through it into the hall.
A friend gave us an old stained glass window. The strips around the outside were missing some pieces but could be repaired. We will install in the wall between the water closet and the hall to allow more light into the hallway.
I taped the wall paper I planned to use in the tub room. I had painted the outside of the tub a burgundy color. The vanity and mirror were from the ReStore- only $50.
The main floor has 9′ ceilings. We are leaving all the height except for the bathroom. Yesterday and today I installed 2 x 4s for an eight foot ceiling. The lowered ceiling will allow Steven to install the plumbing above the ceiling.
I had to redo two joists because the 2 x 4s were warped and I didn’t want the sheet rock marred. Steven worked in the basement on plumbing and electrical.
