I painted the window area that will have a window seat. We also moved the dresser out of the closet area .
New pantry framing
Steven framed the pantry closet.
Putting kitchen together
We went to BuilderMaterials Outlet to look for a lower cabinet and were successful. We found a hickory cabinet with flat drawers that Steven will use a router to create a design like the present drawers. I found a stain that also matches the cabinets. We could now put the sink and dishwasher in place.
Bathtub slow drain
I used the bathtub faucet to get water for cleaning the second floor dust. The tub drained very slowly. We were concerned that there was something wrong with the plumbing installation. I poked my finger in the drain and discovered what felt like a mat of hair. I took a long nosed pliers and pulled out a mass of ugly matted hair. Fortunately the tub now drains quickly.
Murphy bed finally in place
Steven tung oiled under the Murphy bed placement so we were able to install the bed. Steven tried it out. We now have more room and can finish the other half of the floor.

Dining Room Table
When we organized and cleared the north porch, Steven brought in the parts for the dining room table. It is lying on a piece of foam to prevent scratching. I is ready to be put back together. Notice the wonderful carving and claw feet.
Tung oil celebration
Steven was excited to start the tung oil application. We were able to applied one coat before Steven started to hurt. . I poured the tung oil and Steven spread it.
Painting bathroom walls
We finished taping, mudding, and sanding the bathroom in preparation of radiator installation. Today was the day to paint the ceiling and walls. The shower ceiling will be painted white.
Sanding Dining And Living Room Floors
The dining room floor had been sanded with a coarse grit earlier. Steven was able to finish the coarse grit on both rooms. We ran out of time to do the finishing grits because the sander was not working properly and was only using about 1/4 of the sand paper. The rental charged us much less because of this and we will rent the drum sander and an edger to finish next week.
Bedroom floor before and after
We could only do half the bedroom floor at a time because of the Murphy bed. The first picture is before sanding and then different stages of grit sanding. We didn’t get the smooth finish we desire because the sander was only using half of the sand paper and Steven had to work a lot harder to get the desired results
