Down to First Floor

Tomorrow we are having the final electrical inspection for the second floor. Today I cleared material from the first floor to the basement to give working room. Steven worked on the electricity for the living room. He is having problems and can’t figure what the problem is. I started stripping the paint off a dresser for the north bedroom.

Starting Over after Second Floor

Darker Hickory Flooring

We also purchased 7 boxes of a darker 3/4″ hickory flooring which we will use in the south bedroom. We had also stored it in the garage. It sat on top of 8 boxes of lighter hickory 3/4″ flooring which we will use in the middle room. It is still in the garage. To get the flooring upstairs, Steven backed our car to the garage, slid the boxes of flooring into the car, drove the car around to the north side of the house and slid the boxes into the house. He then set up a way to slide the boxes up the stairs! Very ingenious and resourceful! We had purchased all the flooring at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore at a fraction of the retail cost.

Hickory Flooring Sorted

We purchased 10 boxes of this hickory flooring. I will be installed in the north bedroom. I sorted it into approximate lengths so we can more easily find just the right length when installing. We had stored it in the garage. My daughter and son-in-law carried the boxes upstairs for us. Thank you Katina and Patricio!

Pre-op and another issue

My pre-op showed a low heart rate and an abnormal EKG. I had a 24 hour heart monitor and the cardiologist approved my surgery. When I saw my hematologist he said, “I am not a cardiologist but if you were a member of my family I would encourage you to cancel your surgery and see a different cardiologist.” So I saw a different cardiologist who was very thorough. I had an Echocardiogram, another EKG. He then ordered a MRI stress test and a 30 day heart monitor. I learn the results in September. For now the hip replacement is canceled again indefinitely.

Wallpaper and Paint in the Tub Room

I had found this wallpaper for the tub room at Goodwill. I didn’t have enough for the entire room and decided to paint a wainscot on the lower part. A chair rail will come just under the granite vanity top. The wallpaper is striped rose pattern. I had JUST enough with only scraps left.

Found More Wallpaper

I had thought I only had one more roll of the north bedroom wallpaper but discovered I had 4 more rolls. I finished the north wall and decided to also do the opposite wall where the bed will be placed. I also did one wall of the closet. Still have wallpaper left but decided to move on to the south bedroom. I had two rolls of wallpaper (again thrift store find).
