Our insulation inspection gave things to fix. We needed to seal the edges of the plastic with foam for a better seal.
We passed inspection.
There was blown in insulation in the downstairs from before. Areas that were empty had insulation filled and plastic added.
All the insulation was removed from the kitchen to facilitate the electrical work so new insulation was added.
We have a collection of tools for working and furniture for the future Airbnb stored in different rooms making working a bit more difficult.
We found this upper cabinet on the side of the road when we were driving to church. We have removed the glass shelves and doors. We may cut it in half and use as a divider between the dining and living rooms.
The stairway is dark oak with carved bannisters. The floor under the stairs was not supported. An opening to the basement had been cut through the floor joists. A two x four wall had been constructed to support the joists but it was not sufficient so there were gaps between the bottom of the banisters and the steps. We purchased floor jacks and slowly raised the joists to a higher position. We must now replace the jacks with wooden supports.
