The dining room floor had been sanded with a coarse grit earlier. Steven was able to finish the coarse grit on both rooms. We ran out of time to do the finishing grits because the sander was not working properly and was only using about 1/4 of the sand paper. The rental charged us much less because of this and we will rent the drum sander and an edger to finish next week.

Getting Ready to Sand floors
Extra cabinets and tools moved to kitchen to clear dining room and living room for floor sanding.
Filling in Flooring prior to Sanding
There were holes on each side of the living/ding doorway where bookcases used to be. Steven filled those spaces in with extra flooring before we sand. A china cabinet will be on one side and a bookcase on the other.
ReStore Finds
The ReStore had .been greatly enlarged. Because of the COVID virus we had stayed away. today we went looking for trim. we found that and much more. I wanted to find a small bookcase we could use in the living room.across the doorway from the China cabinet. I found 6 chairs for $4 each. They were old with needlepointed rose seat coverings. We found 2 white support pillars for $9 each – value $90 each. We found a bunch of trim. We couldn’t get two chairs in the car so need to return tomorrow.

Designing coat and pantry closets with ReStore doors
we had purchased a set do bi-fold doors from ReStore. I separated them by taking the hinges off. We are deciding how to place the door before framing the wall.
Adding a china cabinet between
On the way to church, we found the cabinet along side the road. We have hardwood flooring missing because built in bookcases are missing and that spot needs covering up. Steven removed part of the wall, so the doorway outdoors be at least 32”
Sanding edges along walls
Steven rented an edge sander and spent two days sanding along the walls so we can install baseboards and radiators.
Doorway between Dining and Living Rooms
I added drywall and muddled the jam of the doorway. Steven later added more mud to even it out.
