Kitchen Window Trim

When Steven had installed the vertical kitchen window, we didn’t take time to install exterior trim. It didn’t look very nice so we took time to complete it. I marked where to cut the siding and Steven cut it away. I did end up trimming more at the top to allow for the extra drip wood edge. The wall looks so much better. I plan to do the same treatment for the upper horizontal window in the future.

Expanded Porch

The original porch had a slanted wall that we decided to remove and make the open porch larger. We first had to clear space inside the porch so we could move the wall back. I then framed the wall and built in the door frame. Steven came to help me attach the door and we discovered the door was larger than the frame! Steven spent the next day enlarging the door frame and attaching the door. I then removed the old wall. I could then install trim around the living room window and install cedar siding on the right wall. The wall on the left side had siding that had been painted dark blue – it is now Hawaiian Shell pink like the rest of the house.
