We found this door on clearance at Menards. It was a display door with a different finish on each side. I needed to sand, stain and finish to match our decor.
The pine doors were found at ReStore and have been stained.
We have a collection of tools for working and furniture for the future Airbnb stored in different rooms making working a bit more difficult.
We purchased this breakfront at the ReStore in New Brighton, then created an alcove for it in the dining room. There will be a pantry closet on the right and a coat closet on the left. The glass doors are stored safely in an upstairs closet. The middle opens to a desk with pull out drawers.
We found this upper cabinet on the side of the road when we were driving to church. We have removed the glass shelves and doors. We may cut it in half and use as a divider between the dining and living rooms.
We wanted to put in a Murphy bed in the first floor bedroom so it was a more versatile room and could also be used as an office. We found this lovely bed with mattress and two bookcases. The previous owners were artists and we really enjoyed meeting them.
On the other side of the Murphy frame is the back of the breakfront we found at the ReStore.
Opposite the Murphy Bed are the windows which will have a closet on each side and a window seat over the radiator.
We needed to replace the original kitchen window and found an almost perfect one at a salvage store. Trim and needed siding will be added at a later date.
The lower bathroom floor is old-fashioned black and white tile. The row in front of the shower does not have mastic nor is the tile grouted.
I had removed a side bedroom window a couple years a go. I had filled it in with the sub boards and felted the exterior. It was time to install siding. First I had to scrape the loose paint and then cut and install so it could be painted. In the process we decided to paint the first floor siding a darker color. When I was finished though I decided to use the shade between the lightest siding and the trim color. So I will have to repaint this spot.
