Day 7 Roof forming
Day 6 Painting Shakes and Repairing Window & Trusses Going Up
Steven worked repairing the triple north window and I worked on stripping the paint. Shakes were spread out and painted.
Day 6 Second Story walls and roof
Weekend between Day 5 and 6
Steven’s father planted 4 o’clocks. They are a pleasant memory for him. Here are the ones at Rose Cottage.
Day 5 Heavy rain last night
Heavy rain last night. Steven went over to the house about 10 last night. He did some mopping and arranging of buckets to catch the rain.
We discovered the next morning that there was some overflow. But all in all not bad.
Day 4 Walls going up
Many of the walls went up today. It was getting dark and rain was closing in as they rushed to get some trusses up on top of the walls to help support the tarps.

Day 3 Roof Removed and Siding Painted
The roof is totally removed except for far South gable which will be used to support the tarps overnight.
I painted the edges of the siding, then we spread them all out so I could spray paint them. Our sprayer was working poorly so we purchased a new one and it was so much better. So far rain has not been a problem.
Day 2 Second Story Raising
The kneels are cleared above. Shingled roof to the right will remain as a gable. The second story had to be covered with tarps at the end of each day to protect the contents of the first floor.
Day 1 of Second Story Raising
Day 1 Crew begins removing the roof down to the 2′ 7″ kneewalls. First day almost completed over bedroom 2. Window is a triple window Steven and I removed to repair and insert back into the north wall of bedroom 2.
Everyone needs a timeout at times!
In front of our new living room window, we have placed two rocking chairs.
